The Tech Force Contender Series® Model 59.  If your taste in air rifles runs to moderate power and stunning accuracy, consider the Contender Series Model 59.  The Average group when tested at 25 yards was Less than .25" using the new Tech Force® Match Wadcutters (TF-MP).  This break barrel spring piston rifle is sized for an adult, at 42.3 inches long with a mansized pull of just more than 14.5 inches.  But it's actually a light 7, so it's easy to carry in the field.  The cocking effort is only 28 pounds, which means this is an all-day shooter that will not wear you out.  All shooters know that repeatable performance aids accuracy and when several different pellet strings were run through the Tech Force® 59 and chronographed, the consistency was nothing short of amazing.  The trigger is very smooth, adjustable two-stage style with an anti-beartrap mechanism.

When I opened the box I thought WOW! Beautiful gun. Does it shoot? Well....not at first. I was very disappointed with the accuracy and the trigger was horrible. I almost sent if back. But then I decided to put at least 1000 rounds through it before making a decision. Am I glad I did!!! The gun smoothed out very nicely and so did the trigger. I was then able to shoot one hole groups at 10 meters from a rest. At this point I decided to put a Charlie Da Tuna GRT III trigger on it which allowed me to shoot it even more accurately. I had already mounted a TF 3 X 7 X 32 AO scope on it and it weighs 8.0 pounds on my postal scale. The wood is beautiful and the metal work is above average. Fit and finish is very good and over all this is a very nice rifle to look at. It is NOT a Beeman R9 but I am going to compare it to that gun so you know what you are considering. From a rest the R9 shoots smaller one hole groups. At 10 meters the R9 rested hits the dot of a 10 meter rifle target and completely removes it every time. The TF 59 manages to hit the dot 8 of 10 times but doesn't always completely remove it. The other 2 shots cut the center ring but don't always cut the dot. The GRT III trigger is very good but not in the same class as the R9 trigger. Cost wise I paid $399 for the R9 and $259 for a Beeman 3 X 7 X 32 AO scope which is world class. So I have $658 into the Beeman R9. The TF 59 cost me $75 plus $59 for the scope and $32 for the GRT III trigger for a grand total of $166. The Beeman shoots 880 fps with light lead pellets. The TF 59 shoots about 825 fps with light lead pellets. Off hand I can shoot both rifles about the same accuracy. That is good enough to take squirrel size game up to about 35 yards with the TF 59 and maybe 40 yards with the Beeman R9. The R9 is such a nice rifle and fit and finish are so good I am afraid to take it out in the woods and "injure" it. Although the TF 59 has great fit and finish and looks really good, at about 1/4 the price of the R9 I have no qualms at all about taking it out hunting. In closing, the TF 59 is a great value for the money and will come very close to what the R9 can do at 1/4 the cost. Unless you just have tons of money to spend, buy the TF 59, put a good scope on it and the GRT III trigger and enjoy! I rate it 5 thumbs up!!! (Out of 5 possible)

I bought this rifle mostly because of the price. It was going to be my introduction into do it yourself airgun tunning rifle. I thought at least I won’t break the bank if I really screw it up. Well for my hundred dollars on sale The UPS guy brought me quite a nice suprise. The gun, after about an hour of elbow grease is really quite nice. The wood used for the stock now looks great as well as the action and barrel. I mounted a 3-9X50 scope I had and now the 59 was really starting to look like a keeper. Over the next several days I put a five hundred round tin of pellets through. The gun started out with a few groans and squeeks but they are working themselves out. The trigger looks like a Gamo clone but has a much better let off allowing for some good shooting just the way it is. The gun for the money is fantastic, it really shoots very consistant groups and I think it will make a good small game getter also. Now I am not so sure about tearing into it right away. Its to much fun. After raving about the gun and then rating it a four I have to say it would be a five if it came with a decent or even basic set of open sights instead of the basic pakage scope. The twelve ninety five or what ever scope, If you can call it that, in my opnion is not a usable item. If you don’t have a usable scope to put on, you really need to step up for the best upgrade when you buy this combo. That will really give you the most for your money when you get this gun.

This rifle is a very good deal. This rifle can do much better than ј” at 25 yards. When properly tuned I am getting 1/8” 5 shot groups at 50’ with daisy wad cutters from a bench (no wind). This rifle is very well built. By tuning I mean the trigger, from the factory it is a little rough. I took my trigger out of the gun, honed it with a fine stone, and covered it with molybdenum disulfide. This cut the trigger pull in half. Not a job for the inexperienced. Keep the price as low as it is and I for one will buy many more to sell, but the one I did the trigger job on is mine to keep.
