The Tech Force Contender Series® Model 49 is a medium-sized spring rifle with medium power. It's a sheer delight to cock, requiring just 18 lbs. of effort to generate power in the Beeman R7 category. At this low effort, the rifle can be easily operated by youthful shooters. A muzzlebrake extends the length of the barrel by several inches to provide extra leverage for cocking. A low raised cheek piece and Monte Carlo stock bring the sighting eye up to a nice height for a scope. The big story with the Contender Series 49 is accuracy. It is stunnly accurate! During a recent accuracy test at 25 yards on a windy day, there was no problem getting five shots under an inch (.75" using Tech Force® Match Wadcutters). The combination of light cocking, light weight, a great trigger and super accuracy make the Contender 49 a wonderful air rifle for almost every purpose. Comes with a 4x20 Scope and rings.

Looked like a quality air gun for the price. I bought is for my sister as her yard is becoming a playground for voles. I mounted the 4 pwr scope [not very impressive, and sighted it in. I considered is fairly accurate for the price, after having spent a bit of time cleaning the barrel. The scary disappointment came after a number of satisfactory shots. The gun discharged when the safety was released. Then again when the gun was cocked and returned to battery. Thankfully the gun was pointed in a safe direction [Lake Ontario]. I'm sending the gun back for a refund. I hope the one I have is the only defective one shipped, but I don't want to take a chance with another, especially in the hands of my sister.

After a very heavy cleaning of rust on surface of barrel. I then went after the rust inside the barrel with JB, never did get a very clean patch. After about 75 rounds of Daisy wad cutters it stopped smoking and not much spring noise. "The stock has a very large blimish in the wood and should have not been sold.".To my surprise I was I was able to shoot a 1.5 " circle with my red dot at 60 ft . If I could get some kind of a trigger fix and some good pellets It may do a lot better.

This gun is awsome it looks realy good and it is so easy to cock it has pin point accuracy it is the best gun made by tech force, the trigger fells very good
