Tech Force 6-24x40 Scope

Tech Force scopes are an excellent choice for the budget shooter, and they come in a variety of sizes. The scope you see above is the Tech Force 6-24x40mm version, and is mounted on my Beeman RX-2 and is a good choice for such a powerful break barrel rifle. The duplex reticle shows up well, and the 40mm objective lens allows you to use mounts that aren't designed for the larger objective scopes. With a 1" tube, this scope fits the majority of scope mounts available on the market.

The 1" tube does limit the light transmission somewhat, but unless you are a competitor on the Field Trial circuit, you will have a hard time fussing about the light transmission at higher power settings. For the average shooter and hunter, this scope is excellent.

The scope is 16" long, as you can see in the picture below. It is decked out with windage and elevation adjustments that can be set with just your fingers rather than having to resort to the coin or screwdriver to make adjustments. Very handy in the field if you bump it and mess up the alignment.

Tom Gaylord has some good things to say about this scope. Here's a link to another review he did, and he gives quite a bit of info on the scope and his impression.

I agree with Tom that this gun is an excellent bargain, and it costs less than when he first reviewed it! How often does that happen!?? It's only $85.95, and comes with a limited 1 year warranty.

From time to time I get asked about a good, inexpensive scope that will fit the needs of the average shooter. Tech Force scopes are excellent buys, and I have quite a few pics of game that I have shot using these scopes. They work well for me, and fare quite well against the heavier-recoiling springers that are all the rage these days. On lesser-recoiling guns, I doubt you'll ever have a problem with them. So buy with confidence and enjoy this great value in air gun rated scopes.

2 Comments:

  • A few questions regarding this scope. 1. Does the POI change with change in Magnification? 2. How many shots has the scope gone thru on the RX-2? 3.How repeatable are the clicks? (for FT shooting as your click from one yardage to another)

    Thank you

  • Hi Budget FT shooter,
I went back to the scope and ran some tests to answer your questions.

The POI didn't change with adjustments to the magnification on a 30 yard target.

However, the clicks were not as repeatable as one would need for FT contests. I did 50 clicks in each direction, up and down, side to side, and fired 5 shot groups at each setting. When I got back to zero, the point of impact was slightly off from the original setting.

In an FT situation, that slight difference could cost you a successful shot. But in a hunting situation, leaving the scope on the same setting is more common. So it isn't as much an issue in that scenario.

Also, I've put about 300-400 shots through the gun on the RX-2 so far.
