First of all...I admit that my Beeman rifle does not say SS1000 or 1000H, but it does say Sportsman Series, and the only difference is that this rifle has a .22 and a .177 barrel that you can switch out (note: the one Compasseco carries does NOT have two barrels, just one). While I have fired this rifle only a few times, I can already tell that the accuracy is well within acceptable parameters for a rifle anywhere near this price point. This also describes the wood: nicely finished, nothing fancy in the species, but clearly serviceable and not altogether unattractive. Bluing on the metal is better than fair, and (getting back to firing characteristics) the actual velocities seemed close enough to the numbers that are claimed --- especially for a Chinese-made product. The fixed-power scope it comes with is plain-jane enough, but seems to be of more-than-adequate quality for any reasonable task assiged to it. The sighting image seems bright enough, too. You won’t be doing any night shooting with it, but of course other optical products are available for that. Although my experience with this product has been limited so far, I would very surprised if it turned out to be total junk. On the contrary, although this rifle is something that Robert and Toshika Beeman would likely not have carried when Beeman’s Precision Airguns was still in their ownership, I believe it will turn out to be just what it was designed to be: a decent entry-level airgun with more than enough power to ruin any rodent’s day!
